Well apparently Mother Nature has one last hurrah left in her for winter. There is a winter weather advisory and it looks to dump snow from the Great Lakes to Tennessee. Fortunately, we shouldn’t get very much here – and even better, it will be on the weekend. That means no traffic worries on the way to work for me. I do feel for those who have to work on the weekends though.
It’s not like we will get a lot, but sometimes less can be worse, as it has a tendency to just make the roads slick. Personally, I hope we get just a bit more than is being forecasted, so I can have a little fun with it.
Everyone should build a snowman or snow family once every few years. It’s especially fun if you make them and put beach umbrellas and various beach articles around them. It makes for some hilarious looks from the neighbors and people who drive through the neighborhood. I have a few other scenarios that I like to do as well but I don’t want to give away all my secrets !
Now I just have to wait and see if we get enough snow for some fun.
We were warned that we could expect a few thunder showers yesterday afternoon, but my god what a storm that turned out to be. I had taken a stroll down to the city flea market, it was an extremely hot and humid day, the vendors were all anxious to leave and get out of the heat. All of a sudden the winds kicked up, big time, the sounds of all of the merchandise being blown over and crashing was as loud as the thunder, with papers & posters flying through the air and numerous canvas tents that most of the vendors use for shade were flying about like balloons.
I made it to my car right as the rains came. I felt bad leaving so many of the vendors in such a state, but I asked a few of them if they needed by help, but they all seemed good to go. I’m sure thousands of dollars were lost yesterday in merchandise, props and equipment, not a profitable one for most of them in the end.
Well we finally are getting ourselves a bit of rain. It has been so dry here that people have been starting to freak out. I just wish that I had rolled my car windows up last night! It wasn’t too awfully bad, they were not all the way down and we aren’t getting a hard rain. But even a light shower will help at this point and time.
After suffering for so long without a single rain drop, with the threat of rationing looming around us, I’m pleased to see that we are finally getting a nice steady rain fall today. People like me that have planted gardens have been resorting to using our garden hoses and racking up a high water bill, which really bites.
Myrtle Beach golf packages are very well known for giving you the best bang for your buck. Not only do you get to enjoy all that Myrtle Beach has to offer, but you get to play on some of the best golf courses on the east coast. As a youngster around the age of 8 I was taught the game of golf by my parents. The whole family spent many a day on golf courses all over the east coast and I always enjoyed the Myrtle Beach golf courses the best.
My parents are looking into taking a long weekend sometime after Labor Day and have invited me along and they have asked me to look into finding a good deal on the Internet as well as asking for my input on where we should go. Of course the first place that came into my mind was Myrtle Beach, so I have been focusing on looking online to see what Myrtle Beach has to offer these days. Since it will be after Labor Day, the crowds will not be so bad and the prices will be a bit easier to swallow.
So far http://www.myrtlebeachgolf.net has gotten my vote for the best site for information that we are looking for, so I have forwarded the link to my folks email for them to check and see if it is of interest to them as well. It has been a long time since we have been to Myrtle Beach, I’m sure things have changed a bit and I hope that they do indeed choose Myrtle Beach and that the weather is decent during the time that we are there. Bad weather can screw up the best laid out plans ya know.
