Jupiter Trust Litigation

My eldest sister has been busy with numerous doctors appointments since discovering the small brain tumor in her brain and that she is suffering from a sleep disorder called Narcolepsy. And now they are talking heart issues which is disturbing since heart problems do tend to run in the family.

So now there are even more doctors and specialist being brought on board that she needs to make appointments for and talk with, with even more tests involved. Since they discovered her Narcolepsy she has stopped driving so all of these appointments are a big deal because it entails trying to find someone who can drive her back and forth for all of her appointments, medical and legal alike. They are talking about the possibility of an overnight hospital stay next month to do some exploratory procedures which is a bit unsettling for her and everyone close to her.

During all of the madness so has turned to Jupiter Trust Litigation to assist her with her estate planning, updating her will and all the other legal issues and options that go along with getting all your affairs in order at a time such as this. Estate planning can be a real emotional unsettling effort, so having the right legal assistance is so very important. Things can get ugly in a time of crisis, most of us can testify to that fact, first hand. But if there is anything that you can do to make the inevitable crisis a smoother process the better.

Slippers Virsus Orthopedic Insoles

I thought I had myself some comfortable slippers. I bought them new last fall, and I’ve been wearing them around the house almost every day since then. They have well padded soles, and are the “scuff” style that you just slide your feet into. I couldn’t wait to get home and take off my shoes and put on my new styling slippers.

Well about a week ago I bought some of those orthopedic insoles that you can purchase just about everywhere, that you put into your shoes to make your shoes more comfortable, and now I have to tell you that I just hate taking off my shoes and putting on my slippers!  And the past three nights I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night with cramps in my feet; I think it was because I was wearing my slippers all the time and my feet wanted the extra support of my shoes. So I think I need to buy new slippers, and maybe put the orthopedic insoles in the slippers. Go figure!

Legally Speaking

The radio show that I used to produce is still on the air. Legally Speaking is broadcast live every Saturday night on WLAC 1510 AM, from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

The attorney who I worked with the most and became good friends with was the anchor and show host, but he left the show a few years ago and I left shortly right after. I still like the other guys, but the show is just not the same without the anchor.

They changed the format slightly – each of the lawyers on the show plays an instrument and sings old country songs as the show cuts to commercial or comes back from station breaks. They aren’t exactly great musicians, but I think it helps make these guys seem a little more human and approachable to listen to them sings and play guitar for a few minutes every hour. As I said they aren’t exactly great musicians but thank the good lord that they have enough talent not to chase away their listeners. They really took a chance with that path.

Even though I don’t work with them any more, I try to listen to the show if I’m home on a Saturday night and think to tune in the radio to their show. I always learn something new about the law and the legal system and it’s good to hear familiar voices, too.

The Busy Month Of March

It is hard to believe that the month of March is quickly approaching us. March is a busy month, besides the beginning of spring and all that goes along with that. If the groundhog was right we are to expect an early spring which I don’t know of anyone that isn’t happy to hear that.

The month of March brings a ton of birthdays to friends and family. I always know that I will be broke in the month March because of all the birthdays. And I’m still trying to recover from Christmas just a few months ago. Right now I am looking at various electric guitars for sale online to give to my nephew on Easter which is in March this year, along with Daylight Savings Time, Saint Patrick’s Day and if I remember correctly Palm Sunday.

I will be seeing my nephew at the family Easter dinner and since I didn’t get to hook up with him over the Christmas holiday season I figured I’d make it up to him on Easter. He is a good kid, the oldest and the one that seems like he just might make a contribution in this world some day. Guess he is really my favorite. I was there when he was born and baby sat him up until they up and moved away to Colorado a few years ago. It will be good to see them all again. I will pull him aside of course and present him with it in private, so as not to draw a lot of attention from all the others that will be there that day.

Exercise For Folks Over The Age of Forty

When I first started blogging I would share on my blog a funny story or joke that had come my way via the Internet, but then I heard that if you place content on your blog that isn’t “original content” that you could be placing your my blog in jeopardy with the Google Gods. Now of course no one wants to do that. I have a lot of questions, ideas and opinions on this issue. I wish someone at Google could and would talk to me about it so that I could relax a bit more and feel comfortable with what I place on my own personal blog.

But in the meantime please enjoy this short little humorous story that I couldn’t resist posting here on my own personal blog today. Maybe even one of the Google Gods will get a kick out of it as well and leave me alone!

Exercise For Folks Over The Age of Forty

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute and then relax.

Each day you’ll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags. Then try 50-lb potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I’m at this level.)

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag.

Now you’ve got to admit, that was funny……
