Takes Some Guts

Some of my friends don’t stay in town, or for that matter in the country, for very long. So when they land here on ocassion I have to jump through whatever hoops I have to in order to spend any amount of time with them. My good buddy Eric that I worked with back in the late 80′s at one of the largest banks in the area at that time, is headed over to South Africa here in the next couple of months, so who knows when I’ll see him again.

He has been looking various banking jobs over there (I guess you could call South Africa, over there) and has finally landed one, using the Internet for all that it has to offer people looking for jobs. I can’t imagine looking for work out of the country without the Internet these days. I wish him all the luck in the world. He has a new wife and a baby on the way, it certainly takes some guts to pick up and leave for a new life in a new country at his age with a new wife and kid depending on you, and you alone.
