Legally Speaking

The radio show that I used to produce is still on the air. Legally Speaking is broadcast live every Saturday night on WLAC 1510 AM, from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

The attorney who I worked with the most and became good friends with was the anchor and show host, but he left the show a few years ago and I left shortly right after. I still like the other guys, but the show is just not the same without the anchor.

They changed the format slightly – each of the lawyers on the show plays an instrument and sings old country songs as the show cuts to commercial or comes back from station breaks. They aren’t exactly great musicians, but I think it helps make these guys seem a little more human and approachable to listen to them sings and play guitar for a few minutes every hour. As I said they aren’t exactly great musicians but thank the good lord that they have enough talent not to chase away their listeners. They really took a chance with that path.

Even though I don’t work with them any more, I try to listen to the show if I’m home on a Saturday night and think to tune in the radio to their show. I always learn something new about the law and the legal system and it’s good to hear familiar voices, too.

Alesis Vortex Keytar For Christmas

It was easier to find and order the Alesis Vortex Keytar that is on the top of my kid brother’s (well, he isn’t a kid anymore, but will always be my kid brother to me no matter how old he gets) Christmas Wish List. I found this alesis vortex at musicians friend and have put the order in today, plenty of time to get here in time for Christmas. It’s a bit pricey but he is worth every cent and I’m not ashamed to admit it.

Alesis Vortex Keytar for Christmas

He has had a really rough year this year. He has been dealing with a nasty divorce as well as being laid off of his job that he had been working at for the last 7 years. We have all pitched in and tried to help him in any way that we can. Our family has always been pretty tight and thank goodness we haven’t all moved far away from the old homestead, like so many families have done. Having your health is the most important thing in the world and as far as I’m concerned, family is right up there as well.

Relationships With Music

From what I am learning, AKG is the preferred family of products when it comes to recording music these days with all of the high tech stuff that is continuing to improve faster than most of us can keep up with it all. Music always was and still is a huge deal with my family, there hasn’t been a family member yet that doesn’t excel in some sort of music oriented talent. At least that has been the case and a well known fact to the entire family for generations, until my nephew, Bryan pops up and can’t seem to find anything in the music field to really latch on to and/or to call his own. That is untilĀ  about 2 years ago when my brother-in-law took him along to hang with some of his old school chums that still do a lot of recording and are always holding jam sessions in which they, father and son, attend every now and then having a blast with their relationships with music and the legacy continues on.

It’s All Good

It looks like I should able to swing getting the hercules guitar stand in time that I ordered to bring to the Labor Day Family Picnic where we will be celebrating all kinds of anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, divorces, and whatever else we find to celebrate. A time that you can bring a gift to someone that you missed along the way or who ever you owe a present to for what ever reason.

Since I missed my nephew’s graduation I feel the need to bring a decent graduation gift to give to him since I know that he is going to be there. And I’ve been told that he really has his eye on this nice hercules guitar stand that I just found and ordered just a few moments ago online. I got a great deal and free shipping, it’s all good.
