Flat tires!

I can hardly believe my luck, or rather the lack of it. I was loading my truck for this coming weekend’s toy show when I realized that I had, not one, but two flat tires on the opposite side of where I was loading! After I went back inside to have a cold beer and chill out a bit so I could think straight. I remembered a friend of mine who just added some new tire changing equipment in the bay at the gas station he owns. So I called him to see if he’d help me out of my minor predicament. He said, “Cool dude, be right ova’”.

So my buddy shows up and we get to talking about tyre changers and balancing wheels and such. Back when I was a teenager I used to work at Sears Automotive Center changing tires and doing brakes and things along that line. Anyway, my buddy sold me some repair patches that he’d gotten from the place he bought his new machines from and was expressing his satisfaction with the deal he got. He was telling me he purchased two 26″ changers with Pneumatic assist arms and matching hand spin wheel balancers. He tells me he’s been getting all his bay equipment and tire tools and accessories from an online source and that they deliver the stuff to him. He told me the name of the company was, now get this, “Tyre bay Direct”, now ain’t that a hoot? That’s the same company I buy my tool boxes from! That being the case I knew right away that it was a fine reputable company. I believe my air compressor came from them too and I’m positive they sell some of the highest grade air tools on the market today. Not to mention the Weber ten ton bottle jack I purchased last year, that has proven to have been one of the best investments I’d made in that department.

So my buddy fixed me right up, although it did take a couple of hours due to the fact that someone had actually slashed my tires. I really dislike vandals and it was probably the same kids that they caught before flattening tires in the neighborhood.
